Day 163

Away in France, I’ve taken some lovely photos today, but struggling due to wifi to upload them, rest assured the creative has been created…simply not posted yet! We’ve visited several memorials and cemeteries, and seen something of nature – all captured in a series of moments.
We started the day at Delville Wood, here stands the South African memorial to their lost. They hold fascinating sculptural friezes depicting the contributions of their men.

We visited Fricourt cemetery, where there are over 17 000 German soldiers interred

We ended the day at Vimy Ridge – the Canadian memorial to the lost. I never fail to be moved by the place.
